New Month, New Intentions, New Results!
Happy March Friend! 💕
It’s now a new month and with that newness comes this feeling of a fresh start and a new opportunity to make things happen. Despite the high level of motivation that’s present as we start a new month, about halfway through the month, the motivation wears off and it starts feeling really hard to stay on track with our goals. If this sounds like something you struggle with, here are some steps that can help you set the right goals that you can stick to.

Step 1: Reflect on the Previous Month
As part of our monthly reset sessions, we always make it a point to reflect on the past month focusing on two things in particular: our struggles & our wins. Taking time to look back on our struggles allows us to see what’s working, what’s not, how we’ve grown in hard times & set more realistic goals moving forward. On the other hand, celebrating our wins allows us to recognize that we’re actually making progress and gives us the motivation to keep going.
Whether you’ve had a good or bad month, practicing self-reflection is a valuable tool when it comes to effective goal-setting and growth. You can practice reflection by journaling on the Natrella app with these prompts as a guide.

What were my highlights?
What were my low points?
When did I feel happiest?
What did I accomplish?
What made it hard for me to accomplish x goal?
What didn’t go well this past month?
Step 2: Look Forward to the New Month
After some reflection, it’s time to get into the fun part, dreaming, ideating & planning. For this part, we recommend using part one of the Disney Method, dreaming. Let your imagination run wild and think big. This can look like waking up 20 minutes earlier to making a big purchase. Here are some journal prompts you can use on the app to help you prep for a new month.

What do I want to achieve?
Where do I want to be at the end of this month?
What habits do I want to focus on?
Do I have any set responsibilities or goals to reach this month?
Step 3: Be Practical & Prioritize
This step isn’t as fun as the previous one but very essential to making goals that stick through the month. Here we use the second & third parts of the Disney Method: realism & criticism. In this step, we’re narrowing down all our ideas from the previous step to a shorter list & thinking about any obstacles we might face, and having an action plan for such events.
Shorten the list to goals that are particularly time-sensitive and need to be done within the month and prioritize those. When doing this, think about the kind of person or the kind of beliefs & behaviors that you need to have that support these goals.

A new month with new goals is fun, but it’s important not to spread yourself too thin. As you make plans for March, remember to also make plans for self-care, rest & wellness. You need to stay alive & well to see your goals and dreams come true. We hope this post was helpful, and as always, remember to take better care of yourself with Natrella.
